Westminster City Council, in close collaboration with Transport for London and community stakeholders, has been diligently crafting the blueprint for a cutting-edge infrastructure project – Cycleway 51. This visionary initiative aims to establish a seamless and high-quality cycling route, expertly connecting Marylebone and St. John’s Wood. With a focus on safety and accessibility, Cycleway 51 incorporates new crossings, dedicated cycle lanes, and low-traffic streets, all designed to create an optimal environment for cyclists and pedestrians.
Notably, Cycleway 51 serves as a crucial link, connecting the vibrant communities of Marylebone and St. John’s Wood to Lisson Grove and the scenic Regent’s Canal. Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates with the existing Cycleway 27, which spans from East Acton to Walthamstow, offering a comprehensive cycling network for the region.
Recognized as a high-priority project in Transport for London’s Strategic Cycling Analysis, Cycleway 51 responds to the growing demand for safer and more efficient cycling routes in this dynamic area of London. This initiative embodies the collective commitment to sustainable transportation and underscores the shared vision for a greener, safer, and more connected urban landscape.
